Transmission

The world-renowned Eaton RTLO 18 speed transmission is perfectly suited to a wide variety of long-haul heavy-duty applications.

With 15 forward gears and 3 reverse ratios, the transmission has been optimised for use with Hino’s 12.9-litre, six-cylinder engine. Featuring full hydraulic clutch control with air booster and 387mm twin dry-place ceramic clutch, the 700 Series offers long life and maximum durability.

Hino’s outstanding ProShift 16 AMT is recognised for its ease of use, long-term durability and ability to significantly reduce fuel consumption when driven under certain conditions. Featuring 16 forward gears and two reverse rations, the fully automated manual requires no clutching by the driver. The transmission is fully electronically controlled, with the ability for the driver to select a sequential manual mode for on-demand shifting.

Safety

Hino’s 700 Series heavy-duty trucks have the important safety feature of cabin strength certification to ECE-R29 crash test standards, and Front Under-run Protection (FUP) as standard equipment.

Four-wheel disc brakes with Electronic Brake System, ABS anti-skid brakes, Vehicle Stability Control, and electric and heated exterior mirrors, are all standard. Front Underrun Protection (FUP) technology is incorporated in the SH 700 Series’ standard bumper bar to protect other motorists by preventing their vehicle from becoming trapped and crushed under the front of the truck in the event of a front-on collision.

FUP provides additional protection for the truck’s steering components to help the driver maintain control and come to a controlled stop, while also assisting in the deployment of the opposing vehicle’s airbags.

Environment and Economy

The Hino 700 Series meets the high demands of heavy duty trucking while considering our environment.

They’re built for driving performance, durability, and low emissions. The common rail fuel injection system is employed for optimum control of the fuel injection process, resulting in low NOx, PM and CO2 emissions, while enhancing fuel efficiency.

The 700 Series uses stepless electronically controlled EGR valves and a high-efficiency EGR cooler, reducing the US04 engine’s intrinsic emissions. Not just better for the environment, these systems contribute to the reduction in your operation costs.

Durability

The Hino 700 Series meets the internationally recognised European Structural Standards Regulation No. 20 (ECE-R29) for cabin strength, offering you peace of mind.

The engine chassis and body have been designed for lighter weight and greater loading capacity, while retaining high levels of strength and rigidity. While the air suspension helps to absorb vibrations from road bumps that can be a major cause of cargo collapse and damage.

With flexibility and good rigidity, the taper-leaf suspension helps deliver both vibration absorption and durability. The Hino 700 Series delivers good quality transport that can be tailored for any use.

Comfort

With a number of ergonomic features to enhance driver comfort and reduce fatigue, the Hino 700 Series cabin is one of the most inviting workplaces in the heavy-duty class.

The spacious cabin is easily accessible, and offers plenty of leg space. For a more natural shift feel, the 700 Series includes a floor-mounted auto-shift lever.The dashboard has easy-to-read instrumentation and multi-information display, a wide free rack, bottle holders, convenience hooks and spare DIN spaces for RT/CB radios or multimedia units.

Door pockets, centre and overhead consoles and a centre-seat tray means everything is within your reach. The fully air adjustable ISRI 6860 Series seat can be configured to the body type of most drivers, and the integrated seat-mounted seatbelt adds extra comfort.
