Truck & Driver’s big test in Christensen Cartage’s FS 2848 Hino showcases ZF AS Tronic ProShift AMT, with big results on the Coromandel Peninsula roads.

Having got used to Hino’s ProShift AMT, Ross Butterworth (Scrawny) reckons he wouldn’t want to go back to a manual. Scrawny demonstrated how well the Hino’s E13C VG powerplant can haul a nigh on 44t rig uphill and down dale with the AMT lever in manual. For comparison, Truck & Driver’s Trevor Woolston took the truck for a ‘big test’ in automatic mode.
